Tomorrow I will be attempting to register my Camaro for the first time in about a decade. With any luck, and hopefully a lack of red tape, it will be sporting a brand new Washington vintage vehicle plate and thus be legal to break down on the roads of my fine state.

I can think of a lot better roads to break down on than 195. I like wheat as much as the next guy, but it has limits. Now 395 to 20 and across Sherman Pass? That’s where you want to break down.

Might as well! The tires are complete garbage anyway and will soon be replaced with some BFG T/As.

That’s awesome! What year is your Camaro? I’d love to see a pic of it? I love classic cars because that’s the kind my grandfather had and he taught me how to work on cars (and obviously because they’re beautiful). He has every model of Ford Mustang from 1965 (the Coupe, the Convertable, and the Fastback or 2+2) all with a 289, all completely taken apart and restored to from the ground up, to mint condition. He even won car shows with them. Camaros are the next best thing to me, if/when you restore it, you should post pics before, during, and after the restoration.

I just started following you and Oppositelock . I’m new to Kinja (if you can’t already tell), expanding my website.

Sorry I just kept rambling...

It’s a ‘71 which I bought as an $800 basket case. It had been parked in a field for a number of years before I got it and it showed. It’s not much to look at yet but at least now it runs, stops and steers and the suspension actually functions. The biggest pain in the ass was completely rewiring the whole thing. I’m still chasing nagging issues with that, which are mostly bad grounds and loose connections. Anyway, here’s a picture.

I can see the potential! I can only imagine all that work, I’ve seen the work it takes, but it’s worth it!
